Your art looks very organic.
Do you use computers at all, (or is it mostly, or entirely "analog")
and if so, what kind of software/setup (drawing pad etc) do you use?

I wasn't looking for any book at the bookstore, but when I walked pass some book shelves, this book was the one thing that caught my eyes. So, I picked it up and read a few pages. It got me hooked on the story and the art used in it. I just love it so much! This is a good story with perfect drawings and color. I read it all in a few minutes because I couldn't even put the book down! This is one freakin' good book! I'm now a fan of your work, Chandra Free.

I stumbled upon The God Machine accidentally. I myself was suffering through a "forget the world and everyone in it" phase. I finished the first edition in an hour, and have read it two dozen times since. One of the most spectacular things I've ever seen. I love all of the art work. Can not wait for the second one

I absolutely adored your book! A friend of mine introduced it to me, and I was instantly struck by the beauty of your illustrations. I'm studying illustration in school, but your style is so far beyond believable. I cannot wait for the new book to be out :)

You are my Shero! So I was on the verge of my own breakdown yesterday because my project is at a stand still due to mental constipation, and I go to Barnes and Noble just to be with the books for inspiration and to get out of my dreary funk. On my way out, I stop in the Graphic Novel section of course (save the best for last) and fingered the spines of all the books stopping on "The God Machine". The title intrigued me, I thought, "That's what I really need to get my creative juices flowing, A God Machine!" I giggled at the notion, picked the book up, and the cover smacked me in the face! I literally dropped to the floor, copped a squat, and turned each page in awe like I had discovered . . . a pot of gold, the holy grail, something to that caliber, you get my drift! Your artwork is SICK!!!!!! The pages are breathtaking and experiencing each page is like taking a sip of the best red wine, like . . . ever! I flipped through every page just looking at the pictures. By the time I was finished, I was drunk off of the enormous amount of creativity that went into this book! Needless to say, I was also broke, busted, and disgusted, of course, (damn my artist wallet) so I had to sadly put the book back on the shelf. Bummer! Even though I wanted to make a run for it and take my chances, I listened to "Gee Gee" and put it down. I went home, scoured the internet and spent the rest of the night trying to figure out where this "God Machine" has been all of my life. I went to sleep, dreamed about it. Your spooky lines haunted my dreams until my alarm clock went off! So I did the only thing I could think to do when I woke up early this morning, told my husband I needed his credit card for personal items, darted off to Barnes and Noble to find my hidden treasure, (right where I had hidden it, it was the only copy) I brought it home and didn't put it down until I was finished and it was good to the last drop! At the end, I immediately started going through withdrawal symptoms, so I ended up back here to see that you have posted an interview on your website! Yey! I got to see you and hear you talk about this amazing work of art! I know I'm rambling, but I just wanted to say that, I am so inspired by you and your book. It has giving me the jolt that I needed to keep on pressing on in my own artistic endeavors. Hopefully, one day, I'll get my story out! But until then, you best believe that I will be waiting, patiently, and impatiently for your next volume. *Big ass sigh inserted here* So excited to get the next installment! Thank you!!!!!!

You always have been and always will be one of my favorite artists of all time. There's something about your work that has this deep beauty and sadness to it. It makes it seem alive. That's natural talent! I also love your snarkery about the goth subculture. Alas, it is all too true! But yeah, you've got a great sense of humor and a great way of expressing immense tragedy as well. Keep up the lovely work, Spooky!
